WindHPC meeting in Hamburg

The WindHPC project had its 2nd face-to-face meeting in the very pleasant environment of the campus of the Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg on 21st September. The meeting started with partners presenting their current status and the latest research results in the project. Various working groups were scheduled afterwards, which discussed in detail topics around open questions from the previous talks and collaborative work for the upcoming months.

Besides the meeting, the team got to visit the HSUper compute cluster, which is one of the intended compute resources to be used in the project.

WindHPC at ISC 2023

The WindHPC project participated in  ISC High Performance 2023, Europe’s largest convention for the high-performance computing (HPC) community. The project was presented during the project presentation poster session by Christoph Niethammer. The poster drew attention from various national and international researchers and showed potential for collaborations in the future.

In addition to the project presentation, there were several Booth sessions around the topic of power consumption and performance that showed the importance of the energy saving topic as well as the need for closer integration of HPC systems with energy providers also outside of Europe.

In conclusion, the conference was a success and WindHPC got not only a good amount of publicity, but was also confirmed to address perfectly todays needs in the HPC landscape.
